Everton are reportedly set to sign Manchester United’s Morgan Schneiderlin.

According to The Telegraph, Everton have finally agreed a £22million fee with Manchester United for the signature of midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

The Toffees have been looking for a new midfielder this month, given that Idrissa Gueye has gone to the Africa Cup of Nations, Gareth Barry is almost 36, whilst Tom Cleverley could leave the club.

Having worked with Everton boss Ronald Koeman at former club Southampton, Manchester United misfit Morgan Schneiderlin has emerged as Everton’s top target – and a deal finally appears to have been agreed.

The Telegraph report this evening that a fee of £22million has been agreed with United for Schneiderlin’s transfer, and he’s now been given permission to undergo a medical at Everton’s Finch Farm training ground.

Schneiderlin, 27, was one of the Premier League’s top midfielders during his time with Southampton, and his performances earned him a big-money move to Manchester United in the summer of 2015.

Whilst he was a fairly regular part of the United side under Louis van Gaal last season, he has been a misfit under Jose Mourinho this term, playing just 11 minutes of Premier League action over three substitute appearances.

The French international needs to be playing first-team football, and a move to Everton makes perfect since, with Farhad Moshiri’s investment set to land Koeman a proven Premier League player.

Not only can Schneiderlin now reunite with Koeman, he will be given regular playing time at Goodison Park, and will also be able to remain in the North West, rather than have to up sticks again.
