Arsenal are reportedly hoping to lure Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye to the Emirates this summer.

A report in The Sun has claimed that Arsenal are keen to try and tempt Idrissa Gueye to the Emirates after his stunning first season at Everton, but face a battle with the Toffees for his signature.
Gueye has arguably been one of the standout performers across the entire Premier League this term, putting his difficult year with Aston Villa behind him to help the Toffees put pressure on the division’s top six.
And The Sun reports that the £7.1 million signing is now on Arsenal’s radar as they look to try and add to their squad what N’Golo Kante has brought to both Leicester and Chelsea in recent years.
However, The Sun adds that Arsenal will not only have to compete with sides from Italy and Spain for the 27-year-old, but they will also have to cope with the fact that Everton plan to offer the Senegal international a new contract to try and keep him from having his head turned.

Although Gueye may be tempted by a move to Arsenal, some would argue that staying at Goodison Park is the better option for the midfielder, as he enjoys a key role in Ronald Koeman’s side and appears to fit perfectly into the system that they play.
And Everton will surely not want to lose him no matter how much money Arsenal potentially put on the table, as he is one of the players they will need to keep hold if they want to take themselves into the race for a place in the top four.
