Juventus are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Alvaro Morata on a permanent deal, with Tottenham also believed to be interested in the Spanish international.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the European giants are keen to wrap up a deal for the on-loan Atletico Madrid striker before the opening of the summer window, with Morata valued at €35m (£29m), though Juventus are looking for a cheaper deal.

The former Chelsea star has been impressive for the Old Lady this season, with his form catching the eye of Tottenham as well as Arsenal if reports are to be believed, yet it appears that Juventus will wrap up Morata’s signature for good this summer.

The Times have previously reported that Tottenham were keen to sign Morata in the January window, with Antonio Conte looking to add more firepower to his forward line at Spurs. However, the Italian was only able to sign Dejan Kulusevski from his former club.

And now, it appears that the window to sign Morata has shut yet again, with the striker looking set to join Juventus on a permanent deal in the coming weeks as Atletico look eager to offload the centre-forward.

With 11 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season, Morata has impressed for Juventus and is proving to be a good foil for Dusan Vlahovic, another striker Tottenham were interested in. And now, Spurs look to have missed out on another attacker.

Juventus signing Morata is good news for Tottenham

Whilst Morata has impressed this season for Juventus, there’s no denying that Tottenham can do a lot better than the Spanish forward, with Harry Kane and Heung-min Son both scoring more goals than the 29-year-old this season.

Indeed, Morata’s game is suited to Serie A, and the striker has already shown he is not built for Premier League football. And for Tottenham, this news that Juventus are close to signing the striker should be seen as good news as it allows the club to move onto new targets.
