La Tercera claim Galatasaray have offered Arturo Vidal a huge £103,000-a-week deal after tax, in order to tempt him away from the lure of Antonio Conte at Tottenham. Conte has spoken to the Inter Milan star about Spurs.
Conte signed Vidal at Inter in the summer of 2020, and now the 131-time Chile man is out of contract in June. Expected to leave Inter, it seems there is a head-to-head battle between Tottenham and Gala for the midfielder.
Clearly, Vidal has still got it. At 34, he lasted the entire 90 minutes against Liverpool on Tuesday night in the Champions League – producing a miracle-like block to deny Luis Diaz in injury time as Inter won on the night, 1-0.
Earlier reports said that Conte had spoken to Vidal about a free transfer to Tottenham. Now, La Tercera say Galatasaray have offered him a deal worth £103,000 a week net. Gala have intensified their talks in recent days.
What next for Vidal – Tottenham, Galatasaray or stay at Inter?
It is believed that Vidal has the option of a further year at Inter. There is a real possibility he could extend his contract with the Nerrazzuri, given he remains a crucial part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans – playing 31 times in 21-22.
But if he was to move, should Vidal consider Tottenham – where he would join a club that already boast four excellent options in central midfield? Or join Galatasaray, fighting for the league? Inter looks the best proposition.
