According to Voetbal24, Club Brugge are eyeing up a summer move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld.
The Belgian outlet are reporting that Brugge want to bring the Belgian back to his home country, but whether or not such a move comes to fruition remains to be seen.
This comes just days after a Dutch journalist claimed that Tottenham aren’t willing to let Alderweireld go anywhere this month, but of course, the summer could see Spurs take a different approach.
Alderweireld only signed a new three-and-a-half year contract 12 month ago, so Spurs don’t seem to be keen to let him go, and he remains a key player in Tottenham’s squad, starting no fewer than 11 league games this season.
Jose Mourinho reportedly wants a new defender through the door this month and the emergence of Joe Rodon has led to a lot of competition for places, but it’s hard to imagine Spurs letting Alderweireld go this summer as he’s one of the most experienced defensive options they have.
However, with experience comes age, and we’ve seen Alderweireld suffer with injury quiet a lot this season, being ruled out for a number of weeks already this season.

Fortunately, when he has played, he’s been brilliant, with Mourinho describing him as ‘fantastic’ before he got injured against Manchester City.
“I just feel sorry for Toby, with a fantastic performance – a fantastic performance,” Mourinho said.
Stranger things have happened, and with Jan Vertonghen leaving the club on a free transfer last summer, Alderweireld may well go the same way as his fellow countryman, depending on how tempting Club Brugge’s offer is.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming months.
