West Ham United are ‘closely following’ the FC Rostov centre-back Dennis Hadzikadunic, according to Aftonbladet.
Hadzikadunic is said to have ‘aroused interest’ from clubs across Europe with his performances in Russia.
But it is claimed that a move to West Ham, in particular, could be on the cards – albeit ‘probably not’ ahead of next month’s transfer deadline.
Rostov want 70 million Swedish Krona for Hadzikadunic (around £6.1m), according to Aftonbladet..
And that would make the 22-year-old a considerably cheaper option than the Saint-Etienne centre-back, Wesley Fofana, for whom West Ham have offered a pacakage worth £33m, according to Sky Sports.
Hadzikadunic helped Rostov finish fifth last season, ensuring their passage to the Europa League’s third qualifying round.
The Malmo-born player moved to Russia from his hometown team two years ago.

Despite being capped by Sweden at various youth levels – where he played alongside the former West Ham midfielder, Sead Haksabanovic – Hadzikadunic has since committed his international future to Bosnia & Herzegovina.
