Spurs take on La Viola next month.
Tottenham Hotspur’s title hopes were dealt a huge blow last night as they were defeated 1-0 by unlikely challengers Leicester City at White Hart Lane.
The Foxes have been outstanding this season but Spurs had multiple chances to put this game to bed before conceding a sloppy last minute winner courtesy of a Robert Huth header.
The result means Spurs are now seven points off of Leicester who currently share top spot with Arsenal in the Premier League.
Whilst the title seems to be slipping away Spurs do still have hopes of cup silverware this term.
They remain in the FA Cup, although have to contend a replay with Leicester first, and are also in the UEFA Europa League knockout stage.
Spurs will face Fiorentina next month for a place in the next round and according to La Nazione in Italy Fiorentina’s coach went spying on the game last night at White Hart Lane.
Sousa, who managed QPR, Swansea City and Leicester in the UK, was said to be checking out the game as he tries to asses how his Serie A side can get the better of Tottenham for a second season in a row.
Spurs fans will hope he left before he saw their poor marking for Huth’s goal.
