Turkish outlet Takvim claim that Europa League side Fenerbahce are in talks to sign Rangers star Alfredo Morelos after the Ibrox striker was omitted from his Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s last two squads against PSV and Ross County.

Morelos, 26, has been somewhat of an icon for Rangers since joining the club from Helsinki in 2017. He has scored a huge 113 goals in 228 games, and laid on 51 assists. He was pivotal in his side’s pursuit of their 55th league title.

The club’s all-time record goalscorer in European competition, he has now entered the final 12 months of his contract. Rangers have until Thursday’s deadline to sell him, or face losing the Colombia ace on a free transfer next summer.

Reports in Turkey claim that the agent of Morelos has offered him to Fener. They have now opened talks to land the striker and are preparing a bid. It is said that Morelos is valued at £11m – but he could go on the cheap, given his deal.

A player that Simon Jordan has urged Rangers to sell – labelling the player “sloppy”. Reports claim that a number of Premier League clubs are looking at a move. Aston Villa, Newcastle and West Ham are among those showing interest.

Morelos needs to be sold. Van Bronckhorst has accused the striker of being unfit, and lacking the correct attitude. In the meantime, Antonio Colak continues to shine up top. The summer signing has seven goals in nine Rangers games.

Another brace for Colak on Saturday against Ross County has taken his tally to four goals in five Premiership outings. With Morelos seeing his contract set to expire in the summer, there is no doubt that Rangers need to cash in this week.
