Divock Origi told Liverpool on Sunday that he will not sign a new contract with the Premier League giants but, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Serie A duo Inter Milan and Juventus have ruled out a move.

As things stand, the battle for Origi’s signature appears to have become something of a one-horse race.

Scudetto frontrunners AC Milan are in pole position, by virtue of the fact that they appear to be the only club showing a serious interest in a man who scored the winning goal in the Champions League final less than three years ago.

Origi will become a free-agent in July.

The long-serving forward confirmed his desire for a fresh start to the Anfield bosses over the weekend, making it clear that he has no intention of putting pen to paper on a new deal at the Premier League challengers.

This is hardly a surprise.

Origi has played just 71 minutes of league football all season and fell even further down the pecking order following the arrival of Luis Diaz from Porto.

Is Divock Origi leaving Liverpool for AC Milan?

Jurgen Klopp described Origi as a Liverpool ‘legend’ following a typically dramatic winning goal against Wolves in December. But Klopp also suggested that he would not stand in the Belgian international’s way should he wish to leave the Liverpool bench behind for a club capable of offering regular first-team football.

Despite Origi’s enviable CV, however, there is not exactly a throng of suitors falling over each other to secure the striker’s signature.

TMW claim that Juventus and Inter feel that Origi is ‘not suitable’ for their respective projects.

Atalanta appear to be looking elsewhere too.

But, as things stand, a move to Milan is far from guaranteed, even if they are clearly the most likely destination.

The Rossoneri are offering a deal worth around £50,000-a-week. Origi, however, wants closer to £65,000-a-week at the San Siro, having scored against Stefano Pioli’s side during a Champions League group-stage clash in December.
