According to The Times, Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela may leave the club if Gareth Bale completes his stunning return.
It’s claimed that Bale is on the verge of completing his move back to Tottenham, joining on loan from Real Madrid.
Bale will provide Jose Mourinho with another threat out wide, but it may well lead to some exits from the club too.
This report states that Dele Alli could leave, or Lamela may go – and in truth, the latter would make more sense.
Bale will predominantly play in from the right flank, which is exactly where Lamela plays, whilst Mourinho can also use Lucas Moura or Steven Bergwijn on the right.
Lamela, 28, only started 12 Premier League games last season, and with Bale’s arrival likely to hack into his already limited minutes, it may be best for the Argentinian to move on.

This is though a case of bizarre irony. Lamela was signed from Roma for £26million in 2013, with the idea of him essentially being Bale’s replacement at Tottenham following his move to Real Madrid.
Lamela was never able to reach Bale’s level at Tottenham, and the Welshman now heads back to Tottenham in a move that could see Lamela leave.
