Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier is reportedly set for a return to his side’s first XI.

The Evening Standard has reported that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier is ‘in line’ for a first start since December in Saturday’s trip to Southampton.
The Spurs powerhouse has endured a stop-start 2019 so far following bouts of appendicitis and tonsillitis.
Dier hasn’t been named in a Tottenham XI since a 2-0 win at Leicester City on December 8.
But according to The Evening Standard, manager Mauricio Pochettino might well start him at St Mary’s this weekend.
The same report claims that Harry Winks is a doubt for the clash after ‘tweaking’ a groin injury in the 1-0 win at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night, before being replaced by Dier after 55 minutes.
One man who won’t be in the dugout this weekend is Pochettino himself [The Daily Echo], who will serve the first of a two-match touchline ban.
The Argentine was slapped with that sanction, along with a £10,000 fine, by the Football Association on Wednesday after angrily confronting referee Mike Dean after a 2-1 defeat by Burnley last month.
