Arsenal are in ‘advanced’ talks to bring highly-rated England Under-18 coach Kevin Betsy to North London as a replacement for Steve Bould.
That’s according to The Sun, who claim that the Gunners are now closing in on a deal for Betsy following Bould’s departure.
Bould, an Arsenal legend in his playing days, took charge of Arsenal’s Under-23’s in 2019 as he and Freddie Ljungberg switched roles at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal confirmed Bould’s departure earlier this summer after 20 years at the club in coaching roles, following on from 11 years with the Gunners as a player.
Arsenal now appear to be on the verge of landing their top target to replace Bould, with Betsy nearing a move.
Betsy, 43, is the current England Under-18 boss having previously managed the Under-16’s and Under-17’s with the Three Lions.

The former Fulham, Barnsley and Wycombe Wanderers winger is considered to be one of the top young coaches in England, and his progression through the national team setup shows that.
To land Betsy as Under-23 boss is something of a coup for Arsenal, and as long as there are no hitches, the move should be done soon.
Betsy would then be overseeing the development of talents like Miguel Azeez, Marcelo Flores and Charlie Patino in the hope of developing the next Bukayo Saka or Emile Smith Rowe.
