Newcastle United are reportedly closing in on signing Emil Krafth, with the player agreeing a contract at St James’ Park.
According to a report from Expressen, Emil Krafth will undergo a medical at Newcastle today having agreed to put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Magpies this summer.
Krafth has been linked with a move to St James’ Park since the latter stages of last month, with The Sun reporting just over a week ago that Steve Bruce’s men had seen a £4.5 million bid for the Sweden international rejected.
It appears that there has been a significant breakthrough in talks however, with Expressen now reporting that he is set to undergo a medical on Tyneside today and will sign a four-year deal with the Premier League side.
Krafth looks set to be a shrewd signing for Bruce’s side, who have recovered from a slow start to enjoy what appears to be a very decent transfer window this summer.
The likes of Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin and Jetro Willems have been added to the first-team ranks, while the likes of Kyle Scott and Jake Turner will be hoping that they can follow the trio into Bruce’s lineup.
The Sweden international will address another area of concern for the Newcastle boss. And having had to put up with a lot of drama and uncertainty already this summer, the Toon Army will now be hoping Krafth’s seemingly-imminent arrival does not signal the end of the club’s transfer business before Thursday’s deadline.
