Report: Ellis Short drops asking price of Sunderland again

Ellis Short is reportedly looking to sell up at Sunderland, after a miserable time of late.

According to a report in the Daily Star, Sunderland owner Ellis Short has dropped his asking price for the club again.

Sunderland have been up for sale for some time, but Short is yet to attract a buyer.

Without Premier League football, the Black Cats are less appealing to potential new owners than they once were.

And, with Sunderland now struggling in the relegation zone in the Championship, Short has reportedly had to drop his asking price for the Wearsiders again.

Short is now looking for around £57 million to sell Sunderland, after making big losses in recent times.

Short’s time in charge at Sunderland has been particularly turbulent, with the side experiencing both promotion and relegation.

Sunderland are currently on a low ebb, after what a been an utterly miserable year at the Stadium of Light.

If Short does leave, it could be a boost for Simon Grayson ahead of the January transfer window.
