Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala has been attracting attention from the likes of West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace.

According to the Daily Mail’s live transfer feed (31st August 2017; 08:04 am), Eliaquim Mangala is not keen on making a move to West Brom this summer while a switch to Crystal Palace is also looking unlikely at this stage.

The Daily Mail reported at the end of last week that Tony Pulis had earmarked bringing Mangala to the Hawthorns as part of any deal that saw Jonny Evans head to Manchester City.

Tony Pulis, Manager of West Bromwich Albion looks on prior to the Premier League match between Burnley and West Bromwich Albion at Turf Moor on August 19, 2017 in Burnley, England.

However, the Baggies now face competition from the Eagles for the Frenchman’s signature, with the Mail’s live transfer feed suggesting that Frank De Boer’s men have made a £23 million bid for the centre-back.

But it appears that both sides are set to be disappointed during the final hours of the transfer window, with the Mail suggesting that Mangala rejected the chance to make the move to West Brom, while he may also be taking a similar view towards joining Palace as the Mail adds that that deal is currently looking to be as unlikely.

Frank de Boer, Manager of Crytal Palace looks on prior to the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Huddersfield Town at Selhurst Park on August 12, 2017 in London, England.

The Mail suggests that City are hoping that Mangala will change his mind as the hours tick down.

But while the Citizens appear to hope that a move can still be agreed, it would arguably not be a surprise if De Boer or Pulis became hesitant to keep the door open for the 26-year-old.

It appears that Mangala may have little desire to join either, and given the region of fee that he looks set to potentially cost, both managers would be forgiven for questioning whether it would be a smart decision to spend such a substantial amount on a player who seemingly needs plenty of convincing.

And given that Mangala has hardly covered himself in glory since arriving in England three years ago, it arguably appears that he is doing himself no favours trying to win admirers.
