Recently released Rangers keeper Brian Kinnear is close to signing for Championship Birmingham City, according to a report.

The Daily Record claims that the former Ibrox Academy starlet previously impressed the Blues coaching staff while on trial last season and is now set to make his move south of the border.
Kinnear, a Scotland under-21 international, was one of five players caught breaching Covid restrictions earlier this year before his deal expired at the end of May.
The shotstopper ended last season on loan at Annan Athletic in League Two, having also spent time at Lowland League side Camelon, but hadn’t done enoough to earn a new deal at Rangers.
Kinnear only managed two appearances for Annan, keeping two cleansheets for the Galabankies, before he was suspended for breaching Covid rules.
With the likes of Robby McCrorie and Kieran Wright ahead of him in the pecking order at Rangers, it was always going to be tough for Kinnear to force his way past them and into the first-team picture.
The chance to kickstart his career with Lee Bowyer’s side will give the keeper a clean slate after his Rangers dream came to an end and the Scotland under-21 keeper will be hoping he can push on and challenge for a first-team place.
