Leicester City’s Eduardo Macia is reportedly set to snub Aston Villa.

According to The Mirror, Leicester City’s head of senior player recruitment Eduardo Macia is set to reject a potential move to Aston Villa.
Villa sacked manager Steve Bruce on Wednesday, and are in the market for a new manager as well as a host of other backroom staff.
Bruce’s entire staff left with him, whilst new owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens also let six members of the scouting and recruitment staff leave too, including European scout Ian Atkins.
Villa are now looking for a sporting director to head up their recruitment, and The Mirror report that new chief executive Christian Purslow has made an approach to Leicester’s Macia about taking the job.
The pair worked at Liverpool together, and a reunion may have been in some way appealing, but it’s claimed that Macia will reject the move to Villa Park.
Leaving a Premier League club for a similar job in the Championship was always going to be a hard sell for Villa, and so it has proved with Purslow allegedly unable to tempt Macia into a move.

Also previously with Real Betis and Fiorentina, Macia has brought the likes of Harry Maguire and James Maddison to Leicester, and the Foxes will surely be delighted to see him stay.
That leaves Villa looking elsewhere, and it’s claimed that former Valencia man Jesus Garcia Pitarch – another Spaniard – is believed to be emerging as the top target for the job.
