Aston Villa are reportedly hoping to make Eduardo Macia their new director of football.

The Villans seemed to begin a sizeable overhaul of their backroom options recently, and it appears that the new majority shareholders are aiming high in their attempts to get key figures into the club.
Macia worked alongside new chief executive Christian Purslow at Liverpool, and the Villans are now seemingly hoping that they will be able to tempt the Foxes’ head of recruitment to leave his current post and drop down a division.

The report adds that Macia’s main duty would deal with player recruitment, but he is also set to have a big say on the managerial situation, so perhaps he could have a major impact on what the future holds for Steve Bruce.
Bruce is struggling to keep the fans on side right now. The Villans have won just one and lost three of their last eight games and fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, and it appears that a decent section of the supporters are ready to see a change in the dug-out before too long.
