According to The Athletic, Eddie Howe has big plans for Joelinton at Newcastle United, and he’d even highlighted him as an important player for the Magpies before he’d even gotten the job.

Indeed, according to the online outlet, Howe actually spoke in detail about Joelinton during his job interview with the Magpies.

It’s unknown what Howe said about the Brazilian in his interview, but given how important he’s been to the Tyneside club in recent weeks, we have to imagine that he outlined just how key the striker would be.

It’s not just Howe who thinks Joelinton will be key from here on in. Some of the former Bournemouth boss’ ex-colleagues also believe he’s a good fit for Howe’s system comparing him to Dominic Solanke and Arnaut Danjuma.

Howe has plans for Joelinton at Newcastle

Newcastle will undoubtedly have a big budget to spend in January, and while some of the Magpies’ players will inevitably be replaced, it seems as though there may always be a spot for Joelinton in Howe’s squad.

The former Hoffenheim man was one of the most maligned players of the Steve Bruce era, but it looks as though he could be transformed into something of a St James’ Park hero under Howe.
