According to The Scottish Sun, Eddie Howe has moved a step closer to becoming Celtic boss after meeting Dermot Desmond for secret talks.
It’s claimed that Howe has met billionaire shareholder Desmond and incoming Celtic chief executive Dominic McKay for talks in London.
The 43-year-old is now thought to be Celtic’s top choice to replace Neil Lennon following his resignation as Bhoys manager last month.
Howe has allegedly started research into the job having spoken to contacts with ties to Celtic, and he is now the undoubted favourite for the job.
Howe has been out of work since leaving Bournemouth at the end of last season, having suffered relegation from the Premier League.
A Cherries legend, Howe undoubtedly worked wonders on the South Coast, taking the club from League One to the Premier League, and his work seems to have attracted Celtic’s interest.

What’s interesting is that Howe could yet be joined by a familiar face, as Celtic also want David Webb as their new director of football according to the Daily Mail.
Webb and Howe worked closely together at Bournemouth, and a double deal to reunite the duo could work out perfectly for Celtic.
