Leeds United striker Jay-Roy Grot is named as one of nine young strikers who have been tried at youth level in the past 12 months, who the country’s coaches hope will be able to kick on and make a name for himself.
Grot, formerly of NEC Nijmegen, is a Netherlands under-19 international.
He signed for Leeds in August with part of the money signed with the Chris Wood money, and has only played a bit-part role so far.
Grot has five appearances, all off the bench, totally 98 minutes of football. In that time he has no goals and one assist.
He still appears a raw prospect, and nowhere near the level of a Kylian Mbappe – if he was, Leeds would not have got their hands on him.
But there is a big opportunity available for Grot if he can prove himself at Leeds and make a name for himself.
