Liverpool’s attackers clearly have immense quality, but this has been a difficult season for both Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Neither player has really been at their best, and whilst Diogo Jota has provided a welcome boost, a new striker may well be needed this summer.
One interesting name linked with a move to Anfield is Fiorentina hitman Dusan Vlahovic, who has been in superb form this season with 19 goals in 33 league outings.
The 21-year-old has been tabbed as ‘the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic’, and there is a real battle underway for his signature with Corriere Dello Sport suggesting that Real Madrid and Manchester City are keen.
Inside Futbol claimed last week that Liverpool have been in talks with Vlahovic’s agent though, seemingly moving to try and beat the competition – but would have to pay between £35million and £43million.
Now, Calciomercato suggest that Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso is desperate to keep Vlahovic, and is ready to offer him €4million-a-year in a new contract – around £65,000-a-week.
That’s a huge offer to the Serbian striker in terms relative to Fiorentina, and that would actually see him earn more than some key Liverpool players.

The Mirror suggest that Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are among the players to earn short of that figure, showing what an enticing offer this could be to Vlahovic.
Would Liverpool pay that much to him? Possibly; the same report rather dubiously suggests that Kostas Tsimikas, who joined Liverpool last summer, earns around £60,000-a-week.
If Liverpool want Vlahovic, they will need to offer him a rather lucrative deal, with Fiorentina now pulling out all the stops to keep their prized asset.
