The forward has been exceptional for Dundee yet again this season.

Dundee are striving to keep one of their star forwards in Greg Stewart this summer by offering the attacker, who has been linked with the likes of Rangers and Leeds United, a new contract.

The Evening Telegraph is reporting that Dundee have offered the player a deal to extend his current contract, which ends in 2017, which will also make him the club’s highest paid player.

Speaking about his future manager Paul Hartley told The Tele:

“We have spoken to Greg and his agent and we have made him an offer,” Hartley stated. “That has only happened in the last day or two but we are positive on that.

“He’s somebody we want to keep but it’s a fact that players have ambitions, also. We don’t want to sell him but we realise the other end of things.”

Hartley continued, “There is no doubt we want to keep him.

“We are trying to keep him because he has been fantastic for us over the last couple of years.”

The report also mentions the interest of Scottish Championship winners Rangers as well as Championship side Leeds United and League One outfit Sheffield United.

The Scottish Sun reported in February that Rangers would be making a move for the player in the summer, after deciding not to bring him in in January. Stewart, who is a boyhood Rangers player, has been in fantastic form since joining Dundee and has been nominated for the Scottish PFA Players’ Player of the Year award two seasons running.

Championship sides Leeds United were being linked with a move for the player at the end of last month.

The BBC Scottish gossip column state the Express as reporting that Leeds and Rotherham are keen on the player.

Leeds need another winger and a number ten, two positions that Stewart thrives in and he would potentially be a top arrival in the Championship.

But it appears Dundee are willing to splash the cash to keep him out of the clutches of both Rangers and Leeds.
