Chelsea-owned Marc Guehi is a player in demand, with Southampton and Crystal Palace among the clubs interested in the central defender, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic has reported this morning that Palace want to sign a central defender in the summer transfer window, and that their sporting director Dougie Freedman rates the 20-year-old highly.

Southampton have been closely monitoring the England Under-21 international centre-back during his loan spell at Swansea City this season, while West Ham United and Newcastle United have looked at him as well, according to the report.

The 20-year-old is a Chelsea academy graduate and has been on loan at Swansea since January 2020.

The youngster has been massive for the Swans this season, playing 40 games in the Championship to guide them to the playoffs.

The next step for Guehi’s future would be to play in the Premier League.

It is hard to see the youngster establish himself in the first team at Chelsea next season, and a loan move to Palace or Southampton for a year would not be a bad idea.
