Rangers were in the market for a striker or two last summer, and ended up bolstering Steven Gerrard’s squad with a couple of additions.
The Gers snapped up Kemar Roofe from Anderlecht and Cedric Itten from St Gallen, and the pair have helped support Alfredo Morelos in attack this season.
Rangers did look at other attackers though, and one of them was the little-known Terem Moffi, who was playing for Kortrijk in Belgium at the time.
Moffi, 21, had scored five times in 11 games following a January move from FK Riteriai in Lithuania, and Rangers were interested according to Het Laatste Nieuws – but wouldn’t pay the €5million (£4.3million) fee.
Lorient swooped in to sign him and lure him to France, and he has excelled again; 12 goals and three assists in 29 games for the Ligue 1 side as his remarkable rise continues.

It could be about to get even better for Moffi, as Fussball Transfers now claim that Borussia Dortmund want to sign the Nigerian and could move this summer.
The report notes that Dortmund want to keep Erling Haaland, but are looking at other strikers just in case he does leave this summer, picking out Moffi as a potential replacement.
From Lithuania to Belgium to France and now possibly to Dortmund in the space of 18 months, this is quite remarkable stuff for Moffi – and with the striker potentially replacing Haaland, Rangers may well regret not paying up for him.
