According to ESPN, Borussia Dortmund are planning talks to try and keep defender Dan-Axel Zagadou – just a day after Tottenham Hotspur were linked.
It’s claimed that Dortmund are planning contract talks with a host of players who can leave the club on free transfers in the summer of 2022.
Negotiations are imminent with the likes of Thomas Delaney, Axel Witsel, Mahmoud Dahoud and Manuel Akanji, as well as Zagadou.
Still, the report notes that Dortmund may sell some of these players in the summer, with Dortmund looking to rebuild given that boss Lucien Favre is out of contract.
The claims come just a day after a 90Min report claimed that Tottenham are keen to sign Zagadou, with Jose Mourinho keen to land a left-footed centre back.
Zagadou fits the bill, whilst he has great size at 6ft 5in tall, and he has huge potential at the age of just 21 as well as 60 first-team appearances for Dortmund.

The Frenchman does have injury problems though, and is currently out of action having suffered a knee injury in pre-season.
Spurs should now keep tabs on Zagadou’s situation as Dortmund prepare to offer a new deal, as Tottenham could land themselves a bargain inside the final 18 months of his contract.
