Newcastle United and West Ham now reportedly face competition from Borussia Dortmund for the signing of OGC Nice superstar Amine Gouiri, who can now leave for €40m (£34m).
According to L’Equipe, the Bundesliga giants have entered the race to sign the French youngster, with Gouiri regarded by many as one of Ligue 1’s most exciting young talents and a player who has shone for Nice in the past two seasons, yet this summer could see the attacker depart the French Riviera.
Newcastle and West Ham have already been linked with Gouiri, with Stade Rennais also reportedly keen on signing the former Olympique Lyonnais talent, yet it’s Dortmund’s interest that could cause some major problems for the Premier League duo.
News broke this weekend that Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller will miss the next few months due to chemotherapy treatment after a testicular tumour was discovered earlier in the month, and as a heartbreaking yet realistic result, the Black and Yellow need a replacement for the Ivory Coast international.
Indeed, Gouiri, who has been hailed as a ‘super talent’, would be an ideal fit for Dortmund, and with Nice now setting a £34m price tag for the France youth international, the Bundesliga side could now launch a move for the 22-year-old if the likes of Newcastle and West Ham don’t try and push themselves to the front of the queue.
After all, Gouiri is one of Europe’s most exciting attackers, and with Nice open to selling their star asset to a non-French club, the Premier League could be an ideal destination for the youngster, though Dortmund could be spurred to sign the attacker following the latest news on Haller.
Gouiri signing would be a classic Dortmund masterstroke

Gouiri looks set for a big move this summer, and whilst the Premier League would be a great next step for the youngster, signing for Dortmund would be a classic transfer for the German giants who have formed a huge reputation for themselves for incredible deals involving promising talents.
It would not be a shock to many if Gouiri signed for Dortmund and became an instant hit in west Germany, and with the club needing a striker, the Nice star would be perfect if Newcastle and West Ham lose out on the race for the Ligue 1 talisman.
