Borussia Dortmund could pip Tottenham Hotspur to Red Bull Salzburg striker Hwang Hee-chan.

According to Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten, Borussia Dortmund could swoop in and pinch Red Bull Salzburg attacker Hwang Hee-chan from under Tottenham Hotspur’s noses.

Red Bull Salzburg have enjoyed a superb season under Marco Rose, winning the Austrian Bundesliga at a a canter whilst remarkably making it to the semi-finals of the Europa League against all odds.

Having seen off Real Sociedad, Borussia Dortmund and Lazio on their European journey, the Austrian outfit have attracted plenty of admirers – and that may just see them lose some key players.

Valon Berisha, Duje Caleta-Car, Diadie Samassekou, Amadou Haidara, Moanes Dabour and Stefan Lainer are all being linked with exits, whilst Hwang Hee-chan is also being touted for a summer transfer.

According to Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten report that Tottenham Hotspur want to land striker Hwang this summer, but Borussia Dortmund could now attempt to beat them with a €15million (£13.2million) bid.

Hwang, 22, hit 12 goals in 35 games for Red Bull Salzburg this season, and the former Pohang Steelers man has impressed with his pace in Rose’s attack, with a bright future ahead of him.

Destined to feature for South Korea at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, Hwang could reunite with international teammate Son Heung-min at Tottenham – but Dortmund may just swoop and beat them to his signature this summer.
