Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Gianluigi Donnarumma in bizarre circumstances.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma wouldn’t be interested in heading to Tottenham Hotspur – and Hugo Lloris isn’t keen on heading the other way.

The January transfer window is still a couple of months away, but this is already one of the more bizarre rumours for Tottenham fans to read.

The peculiar report states that Donnarumma is still interested in leaving Milan in January, but finding a club to join in January is difficult because the ‘elite’ European clubs all have settled goalkeepers right now.

Keylor Navas at PSG, Thibaut Courtois at Real Madrid, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen at Barcelona, Ederson at Manchester City, Alisson at Liverpool, Manuel Neuer at Bayern Munich… it’s hard to see where Donnarumma could go.

It’s noted that Tottenham could be one club seeking a goalkeeper in 2020, but Donnarumma isn’t too keen on joining Spurs in what could have been a swap deal, as he’d rather join of those huge clubs.

A move would, for some reason, be viewed as Hugo Lloris going in the opposite direction, but he isn’t interested in that either, meaning this strange and unlikely rumour won’t be going any further.

Spurs would no doubt love to have 20-year-old wonderkid stopper Donnarumma in their ranks, but they will have Lloris back in the new year, so a new goalkeeper signing maybe won’t be a January priority.

Lloris hasn’t been the most reliable goalkeeper in recent times, and finding a long-term heir would be smart, but there’s seemingly little chance of signing Donnarumma to fill that role.
