Rangers attacker Joe Dodoo has returned to Ibrox following a loan spell with Charlton.
Rangers attacker Joe Dodoo could be nearing the end of his disappointing spell at Ibrox according to the Daily Record, after turning out for the Light Blues’ development side instead of travelling to Florida.
The 22-year-old returned to Rangers this month after a loan spell with English League One side Charlton Athletic, where he failed to have any sort of impact under Karl Robinson.
He managed to feature just eight times for the Addicks, scoring two goals but was largely inconsistent and it has seen Robinson opt against attempting to renew his loan.
He joins Michael O’Halloran and Andy Halliday in returning this month from loan spells, but former Leicester City striker Dodoo has remained in Glasgow after being axed from the Gers trip to Florida.
It saw Dodoo, who was signed by Mark Warburton in the summer of 2016, turn out for the Gers second string against Championship side Falkirk on Thursday despite the likes of Ryan Hardie, Aidan Wilson and Jamie Barjonas travelling to Florida.
The only other player with first-team experience in the young Rangers side to face Falkirk was Liam Burt, who is overcoming injury.
Dodoo has more than two years remaining on his current Ibrox contract, which expires in May 2020, but he may be forced to leave Glasgow if he wants to save his dwindling career.
