Sidibe has started one Premier League game for Marco Silva’s Everton since joining on loan from Ligue 1 outfit Monaco – could he be heading to Italy?
Djibril Sidibe is unhappy with life at Everton, according to Calciomercato, with AC Milan keen to sign the World Cup winner in January.
The experienced right-back certainly hasn’t had things all his own way since he joined The Toffees on loan from Monaco over the summer. Sidibe has only made two Premier League appearances so far and that tally would still stand at a big fat zero if Seamus Coleman hadn’t been sent off at Burnley before the international break.
Sidibe caught the eye during Everton’s 2-0 triumph over West Ham United on Saturday but the chances are that the 27-year-old will return to the bench once more as soon as Coleman returns from suspension.
As a result, Calciomercato believes that the 2017 Ligue 1 champion is growing frustrated with life as a back up option. Fortunately for him, AC Milan are interested with Monaco able to cut his loan spell at Goodison Park short in January before potentially selling him to the Rossoneri on a permanent basis.
Interestingly, the report adds that Milan are also eyeing Tottenham’s Serge Aurier but, with the former PSG flyer establishing himself as Mauricio Pochettino’s first-choice in recent weeks, a move to Italy looks increasingly unlikely.
Everton will be hoping to keep Sidibe until the summer at least, especially given that Jonjoe Kenny, the club’s other senior right-back, is out on loan himself at Schalke and making a really positive impression in the Bundesliga.
