Yaya Toure reportedly wants a huge £200,000-a-week contract amid interest from West Ham United.
Manchester City’s Yaya Toure with manager Pep Guardiola
According to The Mirror, West Ham United are interested in Manchester City’s Yaya Toure, but fear they won’t strike a deal due to his £200,000-a-week wage demands.
Toure, 34, joined City from Barcelona way back in 2010, and has made almost 300 appearances in all competitions for the club, winning two Premier League titles.
With more than 80 goals scored for City, Toure has been a prolific midfielder during his time at the Etihad Stadium, and he has even won over Pep Guardiola this season, despite the pair previously having a less-than-ideal relationship from their time together at Barcelona.
This summer, Toure is out of contract, and whilst he has featured regularly this term, it’s unlikely that City will look to extend the Ivorian’s stay with the club.

The Mirror report that West Ham United are one club interested in signing Toure on a free transfer this summer, but they fear that a deal won’t be possible due to his £200,000-a-week wage demands.
The Hammers are looking for major additions this summer, and were hoping to lure Toure to the London Stadium in a major coup for the club and for manager Slaven Bilic.

However, those wage demands would make him by far the highest earner at West Ham, and the Hammers are unlikely to even get close to those financial demands this summer.
That not only leaves West Ham looking elsewhere for new signings, but also leaves Toure to consider his options, with few clubs in the world able to match his wage demands – and staying in England may be dented too.
