Glasgow Rangers loanee Joe Worrall has been linked with an early return to his parent club, but he reportedly wishes to stay at Ibrox.

Worrall was a surprise acquisition for the Gers in the summer. He is clearly destined for a bright future with Nottingham Forest, and has already made over 50 league appearances at the City Ground.
And despite a season-long loan being agreed between the two clubs, it appears that the Championship side are contemplating bringing the 22-year-old back this month as new boss Martin O’Neill contends with an injury crisis at the back.
The Record reports that Forest would have to pay a fee to bring Worrall back, but they may also have to deal with a slightly unhappy player if they do recall him.

It would be a huge boost for Gerrard if he manages to keep the youngster this month. Worrall’s form has attracted criticism from fans at times, but his performance in December’s Old Firm game was remarkable.

He has arguably been the most successful option alongside Connor Goldson at the heart of the defence, and Gerrard will be hoping that their partnership can continue to develop in the coming months.
Judging by the reports, that is also what Worrall wants.
