Leeds United seem to be closing in on Felix Wiedwald.
The Werder Bremen goalkeeper was reported to be undergoing a medical with the Championship club on Thursday ahead of a three-year deal, according to German newspaper Weser Kurier, which cited Bild.
The report goes on to state that Wiedwald will cost around £500,000 and his arrival will offset the exit of another United goalkeeper, with Rob Green, Marco Silvestri and Bailey Peacock-Farrell their current options between the sticks.
Rob Green was Leeds’ first-choice keeper under Garry Monk last season but it remains to be seen who new head coach Thomas Christiansen fancies.
There has been a bit of speculation about Silvestri this summer, but the Italian stopper suggested on Twitter earlier this month that he would be staying at Elland Road, in a tweet that he has since deleted.
He posted a photo of himself in action for the Yorkshire club, along with the caption ‘S-O-O-N’.
Hadi Sacko – who made his loan move from Sporting Lisbon permanent – and Mateusz Klich are Leeds’ only two signings so far this summer.
