Celtic defender Efe Ambrose is planning to make a decision on his future after he has taken part in the Olympic Games with Nigeria, according to the Evening Times.

The Evening Times reports that the 27-year-old is set to be one of the players that will be leaving Parkhead this summer following Brendan Rodgers’ appointment.

And while Fenerbahce have been linked with making a move for the centre-back, the Evening Times suggests that Ambrose is in no rush to make a decision.

He is hoping that his performances for his country in Rio will help attract further interest and see several options put on the table before he makes his mind up.

With the Olympics taking place in August, Ambrose is going to be cutting it fairly fine if he hopes to complete a move elsewhere before the transfer window closes.

And based on his form this past season, it seems unlikely if he remains with the Hoops beyond the summer that Rodgers will be too keen to turn to the former Ashdod man.

However, if he does impress in the Olympics, and Rodgers struggles to add the kind of depth in defence that can cope with the demands of competing on several fronts, then perhaps there is still a chance Ambrose could revive his Hoops career.
