The 23-year-old has left the Championship club on a season-long loan.
Leeds United’s Jordan Botaka
A report in the Yorkshire Evening Post has claimed that Jordan Botaka may have already played his last game for Leeds United as he is expected to leave the Whites next summer.
The winger moved to Elland Road one year ago after some exciting displays in the Eredivisie with Excelsior, but struggled to make a similar impact in the Championship, only briefly edging his way in from the periphery of the squad under Steve Evans.
Leeds United manager Garry Monk
However, Garry Monk’s arrival – and the subsequent acquisitions of players such as Kemar Roofe, Marcus Antonsson and Hadi Sacko, who are capable of playing out on the wing – soon saw Botaka’s place on the fringes confirmed as he left the Peacocks to join Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan.
And now, the Yorkshire Evening Post are reporting that there is every expectation that he will be leaving the club permanently at the end of the current season when his contract comes to an end.

If the 23-year-old hopes to stay at Leeds, the one positive is that there is plenty of time for him to prove himself at the Valley, and perhaps force his way into Monk’s plans upon his return.
The DR Congo international showed glimpses of real skill and potential when he was given a chance last term, but did not do it anywhere near regularly enough, so a run in the Addicks side may be what he needs to get his belief up to a level where he feels confident enough to unleash his full bag of tricks on opposition full-backs.
While the current plan appears to involve letting the wide-man leave, if Botaka can make match-winning contributions on a consistent basis in League One, it will surely be impossible for Monk to allow him to go without giving him another try.
