Ross Barkley’s current deal with Everton expires at the end of next season.
Everton’s Ross Barkley
A report in the Telegraph has suggested that the contract that Everton have put on the table for Ross Barkley is worth £100,000 a week.
The Telegraph reports that Barkley’s current deal at Goodison Park expires at the end of next season, prompting Toffees boss Ronald Koeman to issue an ultimatum that if he does not put pen to paper during the summer, he can expect to be sold rather than be allowed to run his contract down.
And it appears that Everton are ready to pay big money to try and convince Barkley to stay on Merseyside, with the Telegraph reporting that they are prepared to offer the England international the six-figure salary.
While that kind of deal will surely appeal to the playmaker, he will also be aware that his form has not gone unnoticed by other clubs, with the Daily Mirror recently reporting that both Tottenham and Chelsea are keen on the 23-year-old who has scored four and contributed eight assists in the Premier League this term.

Therefore, it may not only take Everton’s stunning contract offer to convince him to stay, but perhaps he will also need to see the club show the kind of ambition in the transfer market that suggests that they could move up to the next level next season.
If the Toffees are not able to make some major statement signings during the summer, then perhaps a move to Tottenham or Chelsea may appeal more even if they are not willing to match the offer that Everton have made.
