Ibrox side and Scottish Premiership-bound Rangers have signed Joey Barton on a free transfer.

Rangers will pay new signing Joey Barton as much as £20,000 per week, according to Press Association Sport.
Former Newcastle United and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Barton has signed for Scottish giants Rangers on a two-year contract.
The 33-year-old Englishman has joined the Scottish Premiership-bound outfit on a free transfer.

According to Press Association Sports, as reported on Sportinglife.com, Barton’s weekly wage packet will contain as much as £20,000.
A weekly salary of £20,000 is not much for a professional footballer who has played for some of the biggest clubs in England, such as Manchester City and Newcastle United.
It shows just how much Barton is keen on playing for Rangers, as he could have easily stayed at Burnley or found another team in the Championship, maybe even in the Premier League, with a higher salary.

Barton was one of the best players for Premier League-bound Burnley in the Championship this past season.
The 33-year-old English midfielder scored three goals and created 29 chances in 38 league matches for the Clarets during the 2015-16 campaign.
The new Rangers signing had a pass accuracy of 75% and a shot accuracy of 31%, and won 67 headers, 15 dribbles and 82 tackles.
