Baggies boss Pulis is the bookies’ favourite to be the Premier League’s next managerial casualty.

West Bromwich Albion’s new owners could give manager Tony Pulis the best part of a month to impress, the Sun reports (Goals pullout, page 11).
An investment group led by Chinese businessman Guochuan Lai completed its purchase of the Black Country club on Thursday, a development which many expected would mark the end of Pulis’ 20-month term.

The Welshman’s relationship with the Baggies’ fanbase is arguably as low as it ever had been, while he has already made a public contradiction of claims made by chairman John Williams regarding the club’s summer recruitment drive.
A move to Championship side Queens Park Rangers was also mooted at the start of last week, although Saturday’s 4-2 win against West Ham United looks to have preserved Pulis’ position.

With old club and Premier League basement boys Stoke City to come next week, the Sun reports the 58-year-old is safe for now – adding he could have until next month’s visit of Tottenham Hotspur to continue to stake his claim.
It is said that the reason for this is because Lai is not due in the country until that fixture, which takes place on 15 October.
