Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will allegedly be given £15million to spend on new signings this summer.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
According to the Daily Mail, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will be given a bumper transfer budget of around £15million to spend this summer, with three players wanted.
The Bhoys have stormed to the Scottish Premiership title this season, winning a sixth-straight title without losing a game, with Rodgers still unbeaten domestically.
Celtic have dropped just six points in the Scottish Premiership, with three draws in 32 games, whilst Rodgers has already secured the Scottish League Cup, and is into the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.
Improving Celtic’s fortunes in the Champions League will be the next challenge for Rodgers, but in order to do that, he will need considerable financial backing – and it seems that he will get it.
The Daily Mail report that Celtic have given Rodgers around £15million to spend on new signings this summer, with three new signings wanted at the end of the season.
It’s stated that, with Rodgers wanting three ‘blue chip’ signings to take Celtic to the next level, Celtic are looking to invest around £4million to £5million on each player – huge investment compared to rest of the teams in Scotland.
Celtic’s Moussa Dembele
Rodgers brought in Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair last summer, and he will be hoping to land players of a similar ilk this summer, with even more money available at his disposal this time around.
The report adds that Rodgers wants to bring in a right winger to replace Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts, as well as a new central defender and a goalscoring midfielder, with the Bhoys also prepared to spend big on a new striker if Dembele is sold this summer.
