Leeds United have been quick to act following the sacking of Jesse Marsch.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the interview process is already underway as they search for a new gaffer, with this story indicating that they are keen to have a new manager in place before Sunday’s game against Manchester United.

The Yorkshire Evening Post report that the interview process has indeed begun and it looks like the Whites are keen to make an appointment as soon as possible.

The club has a history of moving quickly to secure a new manager. Last year, just days after getting rid of Marcelo Bielsa, they hired Jesse Marsch to take over from the Argentine.

This time around, Leeds will be hoping to have a new manager in place before their upcoming match against Manchester United, which is the first of two fixtures between two sides this week.

Leeds, of course, won’t have a new manager in place for Wednesday’s game where a skeleton staff will take charge at Old Trafford.

We don’t know who has been interviewed, but the YEP state that the leading candidates for the role are currently in employment, which means that Leeds will likely have to pay a decent fee in terms of compensation if they land any of their top targets.

The fact that top targets are in employment does lend itself to the theory that Andoni Iraola and Carlos Corberan are in contention. After all, they’re currently in roles at Rayo Vallecano and West Brom respectively.

Regardless of who they go foar. It is imperative that Leeds get this appointment right. They are facing the threat of relegation and need a manager who can turn things around quickly before the situation becomes irretrievable. The YEP report suggests that the club is eager to make a quick decision, but it mustn’t be a rushed one.
