West Ham United are in discussions with Barcelona regarding a deal to bring Andre Gomes to the London Stadium.

According to the Daily Mail’s live transfer feed (31st August 2017; 08:11 am), West Ham are in discussions to land Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, and could bring him to the London Stadium on loan for nothing on one condition.
The Portugal international only arrived at the Nou Camp last summer from Valencia, but struggled to hold down a place in the Catalan giants’ side, making just 17 starts in La Liga last term.

Gomes is yet to appear for Barca this season, and the Mail suggests that he could now be Premier League bound, with the Hammers in discussions over a potential loan move.
The Mail adds that Barcelona will sanction letting the 24-year-old join the Irons for nothing provided that they receive a guarantee that he will play in 70 per cent of their games during his time as part of Slaven Bilic’s squad.

It would not be the first time that West Ham have managed to agree a loan deal for a Barcelona midfielder if they manage to get a deal across the line, with Alex Song signing for the Hammers twice while he was on Barca’s books.
If Gomes was to join on deadline day, you would imagine that it would hand the Hammers squad a sizeable, and much-needed boost after what has been a torrid start to the season.
Bilic’s men go into the international break bottom of the top flight, having conceded 10 goals in just three games and not picked up any points thus far.
Gomes may have endured a fairly difficult time personally at Barcelona, but the Euro 2016 winner possesses plenty of quality, and his potential arrival – provided the Hammers provide the guarantee and the deal subsequently goes through – may lift some of the gloom surrounding West Ham at this current moment.
