Danny Rose obviously decided to stay at White Hart Lane with Tottenham Hotspur, but he could surely be forgiven for considering the move.
Tottenham’s Danny Rose
A report in The Sun has disclosed some of the incredible details of the deal that Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG put on the table to try and sign Tottenham star Danny Rose.
Rose has been a key man for Mauricio Pochettino’s side over the last four seasons, so it is hardly surprising that former Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas wanted to link up with the full-back once again by bringing him to China.
Nevertheless, it would have surely still come as a shock when Rose heard some of the terms that were reportedly put on the table as the club tried to lure him away from Tottenham.
According to The Sun, Shanghai SIPG were prepared to offer the 26-year-old a deal worth an eye-watering £285,000 a week after tax, while they were also prepared to pay Tottenham £38 million to make a move happen.

While Rose is a hugely important player to the way that Spurs play, all involved would surely be forgiven for considering the offers that were put in, even if they were subsequently quick to dismiss the bid.
Even with that kind of money, there is certainly no guarantee that Spurs would be able to sign a full-back who offers what Rose brings to the team. And while the offer may have seen Rose make more money than he could ever imagine, deciding whether to stay at Tottenham would surely not have been a difficult decision given the direction the club is going in.
