The Sun report that Mauricio Pochettino is keen on replacing Graham Potter at Chelsea with the newly-appointed Blues boss coming under increasing pressure – despite Tottenham icon Pochettino being linked with a return to Spurs.

Pochettino, 50, remains out of work after being sacked by PSG in the summer. That is despite winning the Ligue 1 title. He was replaced by Christophe Galtier, who is impressing in his place. Pochettino is waiting for the right time to return.

A man that managed Tottenham for over five years, clocking up 293 games in total – winning an impressive 159 times. Taking Spurs close to a Premier League title in 2015-16,. Then losing a Champions League final in 2018 in Kyiv.

90Min reported towards the end of December that there are some at Spurs that would like Pochettino to return to the club. Since then, Spurs have won their last two games and the signs are that Conte may sign a new Spurs contract.

However, The Sun now claim that Tottenham’s plan to bring Pochettino back if things turn sour regarding Conte – are under threat. That is because Chelsea could move to bring him in if Potter is sacked. He is keen on Chelsea.

Pochettino is sure to manage Spurs again at some point in the future. But as things stand, right now, Conte looks as though he will remain at Spurs. That of course, could change, if the club do not back the Italian in the next few weeks.

The Argentine boss will be keen to get back into work. Now, the report claims he still has a house in London. So, a move to Chelsea would suit the gaffer – despite the rivalry between the two clubs. One that will develop down the line.
