According to The Athletic, Leeds United attempted to bring Jens Petter Hauge to England for a visit – but there was no chance as soon as AC Milan got involved.
Leeds have missed out on a couple of Norwegian talents in recent times, such as Erling Haaland or Hakon Evjen, and you can add another to the list in Hauge.
It’s claimed that Leeds spoke ‘at length’ about signing Hauge over the summer, believing that the Bodo/Glimt winger would have been a savvy investment.
They wanted to get Hauge over to England to visit ahead of a potential deal, but they were blown out of the water when AC Milan entered the race.
Milan agreed a fee with Bodo/Glimt, and the rest, as they say, is history with Hauge making the move to the San Siro instead of Elland Road.
Leeds ultimately signed a star winger in Raphinha, but they may be cursing missing out on Hauge after his start to life in Italy.

The 21-year-old has already bagged four goals and one assist in 14 games for Milan, showing huge promise early into his career with the club.
Maybe Leeds can land Hauge one day, but it seems they have missed their chance with the winger on a trajectory to stardom.
