CalcioMercato report that Arsenal and Tottenham have both held talks ‘in recent days’ to sign Juventus star Dejan Kulusevski. Not only that, but the Swede does not fancy a move to Sevilla – a boost for the North London sides.
Kulusevski, 21, is struggling to get regular game time at Juventus under the guidance of Max Allegri. The Sweden international has only started four of 21 league and cup appearances this season – scoring one and creating three.
Tottenham and Arsenal have been strongly linked over the past few weeks. CM state that Juventus want a fee of £29million for the attacker – who has a contract at Juve until 2025. Fabio Paratici signed him for Juventus.
Now, the latest report states that both North London sides have held talks to sign Kulusevski ‘in recent days’. But also, that Sevilla have chanced their arm – only for Kulusevski to seemingly prefer a move to England.
Arsenal and Tottenham boost: Kulusevski worth £29m?
Given both players want to sign him, the fact the two have now held talks and that he is against a move to Sevilla is exciting. But is Kulusevski that great? Is he worth the £29million price tag placed on his shoulders by Juve?
Without a doubt. While he may not have the output expected of a player at that price – 18 goal involvements in 68 Juve games – he has only started 32 of those. He needs a clear run of games, to maximise his potential.
While he might not get that at Spurs or Arsenal initially, there is certainly a better chance of doing so than at Juventus. If he can maximise his potential, then he could prove to be a bargain at £29million.
