Rangers could see striker Ryan Hardie leave Ibrox in 2018.

Ryan Hardie of St Mirren misses a fine chance during the match beTFRED Cup Group Stage match between St Mirren and Edinburgh City at St Mirren Park on July 30, 2016 in Paisley, Scotland.

According to The Scottish Sun, Queens Park Rangers are interested in signing Rangers striker Ryan Hardie for their Under-23 side.

Hardie, 20, has come up through the ranks with Rangers, and hit the headlines in 2015, scoring twice in five league games after being given a chance by Stuart McCall.

The striker has since spent two loan spells with Raith Rovers, scoring a combined 14 goals in 34 games, whilst he also hit three goals in 17 games on loan at St Mirren last season.

Hardie has mostly been featuring in the development squad for Rangers, as he has yet to start a single game this term, and has been limited to just six substitute appearances.

Now, The Scottish Sun report that Hardie could leave Ibrox in 2018, as Championship side Queens Park Rangers are allegedly keen to take him to England.

It’s claimed that QPR are looking for young talents to boost their Under-23 side, and have been alerted to Hardie’s exploits, given that he has hit six goals in 23 games for Scotland at various youth levels.

With Hardie’s contract expiring at the end of the season, QPR may be sensing a bargain in Hardie, who simply hasn’t been given the chances he deserves in the Rangers side.

The Gers need to make a decision on Hardie’s future ahead of the January transfer window, and may be better off giving him some chances rather than the struggling Eduardo Herrera.
