Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is set to be offered the chance to leave Ibrox.

According to a report from the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard is set to be offered a contract that would see the current Rangers boss net an £8 million bonus if he guided Derby to promotion to the Premier League.
The Record reports that the Gers manager is the Rams’ first-choice to succeed Frank Lampard if he leaves Pride Park this summer, and they are prepared to make an offer that would see Gerrard earn £2.5 million a year.
The report adds that the Rangers boss would land £8 million if he could take Derby one step further than Lampard managed during his first year in charge and seal promotion to the top flight.
The Record suggests however, that Gerrard is keen to stay at Rangers and secure silverware at Ibrox. That is unlikely to deter Derby though if Lampard does go, with Chelsea looking to appoint their former midfielder as Maurizio Sarri’s successor.

Big statement for Rangers?
Given the terms reportedly set to be put on the table, it would be a big statement if Gerrard decided to stay at Rangers and reject any interest from Derby.

The Gers are the bigger club, but the speculation surrounding Lampard may leave Gerrard with something to think about given it would surprise no-one if his main ambition was to manage Liverpool at some stage in the future.
However, Gerrard appears to be favouring the chance to continue building at Rangers rather than take up a contract that could see him land up to £10.5 million in one year.
