Derby County have held talks with Chelsea’s £14 million forgotten man Abdul Baba Rahman on multiple occasions, with the Ghana international expected to tie up a loan move today, according to the Northern Echo.
It is four years since the one-time Bundesliga wonder-kid made an appearance in English football.
But after spells at Schalke, Reims and Real Mallorca, Baba Rahman will now be loaned out to a Championship club for the first time in his once oh-so promising Chelsea career.
Middlesbrough are interested while Baba is one of many left-backs in Watford’s sights on deadline day, along with QPR’s Ryan Manning and Cardiff City flyer Joe Bennett (Observer).

Derby may be in pole position at present, however, having conducted talks with the former Augsburg talisman on a number of occasions.
Phillip Cocu’s underperforming Rams sold Max Lowe to Sheffield United five weeks ago and he is yet to be replaced at Pride Park, although teenager Lee Buchanan is very highly-rated on this side of Brian Clough way.
26-year-old Baba Rahman would provide a little more experience on the left-hand side, however, while his turbo-charged acceleration and pinpoint crossing could help give Derby’s misfiring forwards the ammunition they need.
