Derby County striker Chris Martin is set to undergo a medical at Championship rivals, Fulham, according to Sky Sports.

Martin was reportedly whisked away by Cottagers representatives from the Scotland team hotel.

Derby have added two new strikers in recent weeks, with Matej Vydra following James Wilson to the iPro Stadium for a club-record fee.

And it seems that Martin, who has top scored for the Rams in each of the past three campaigns, will be moved on to raise funds for further additions ahead of Wednesday’s 11pm deadline.

The 27-year-old had been linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, though Fulham appear to have seized the initiative after failing to land Asamoah Gyan.

The Cottagers were reportedly close to signing former Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid man Emmanuel Adebayor earlier on Wednesday.

However, the Togolose is currently a free agent, meaning he can still be signed after the window closes, should the deal not go ahead.

Fulham have enjoyed a bright start to the new Championship season and currently sit second after five matches.
